Portable Dust Monitoring Systems

SentineX version 2.6 (v2.6) has been developed and was recently released to undertake field testing. The rapid pace of application and software development needs of customers has driven the latest enhancement to the SentineX Platform. Version 2.6 builds upon the tried and tested SentineX Platform to deliver further functions and benefits to users.

The primary additions to v2.6 are:

  • Integration of the BAM 5014i continuous dust monitoring device
  • An enhanced meteorological module
  • Addition of the SentineX Mini application including flow, level and other water quality parameters.
  • Introduction of a direct temperature lapse rate application
  • Introduction of a new alarm engine to enhance the configuration of alarms and alarm types
  • Development of a new database engine to enable the SentineX Platform to interface with industry standard ODBC compliant database engines, commonly used in SCADA systems.

Novecom has been working on a prototype video surveillance system to assist in the identification of light spill from fixed and mobile equipment.
Conrad Neilands, Novecom’s systems integration guru, has successfully developed and is currently trialling the new system. Known as VLiMS (visible light monitoring system), the system provides a time lapse image sequence, showing the presence of visible light impacting on sensitive receivers. Post processing of grey scale images can also quantify changes in light intensity.

The new database interface enables the SentineX platform to be integrated with any ODBC compliant database.

This will enable our customers to integrate their SentineX systems into a site control interface such as a SCADA system
